Following the announcement of further relaxation of the Covid-19 Regulations by the Welsh Government(WG) on Friday, and the subsequent update to guidance from Tennis Wales, we are more than pleased to inform you that both singles and doubles may be played on any of our courts – by members of more than two households – commencing on Monday 13th July.

There are some new conditions to be applied – full guidance from Tennis Wales can be obtained by following this link – TENNIS WALES

Important Changes to Guidance to Players are listed below:

Both singles and doubles play are now permitted with people from outside of your household, as long as you remain 2 metres apart – four people from different households can play doubles.

Singles and doubles can be played with people from different households, and group sessions (e.g. club nights, mix-in sessions), coaching and competitions can take place for groups of up to 30 people, as long as social distancing guidelines are adhered to.

To support Test, Trace, Protect (TTP), venues and coaches may need to take additional details from you when booking so that they have the appropriate mandatory records in place for a period of 21 days to assist this service.

How is this going to work?

Return of Social Tennis

The following group sessions will now take place – courts will be pre-booked by Club Admin – a member of the group will be required to list ALL participants and their telephone numbers as a requirement of TTP. The Attendance List will be available in a folder in Reception, and must be returned to Reception, or handed to a Committee Member after completion.

Monday – 17.30 to 20.30 – Ladies’ Evening – Courts 10 to 12.

Tuesday – 17.30 to 20.30 – Mixed Social – Courts 7 to 12.

Thursday – 17.30 to 20.30 – Men’s Evening – Courts 7 to 12.

Saturday – 13.00 to 17.30 – Mixed Social – Courts 7 to 12.

All other courts remain available for normal booking.

Arranged play outside Social Sessions.

You are still required to book courts in advance – the booker should keep a record of ALL participants and phone numbers as a requirement of TTP for a period of 21 days.

Any “Round Robin” groups, e.g. Tuesday Morning Men, will be required to book their own courts in the normal manner but will need to complete an attendance list as per Club Organised Social Tennis above.

General Guidance

It is no longer a requirement for players to use separate sets of balls for play, but we would strongly advise that balls are only handled when serving.

The 2 metre social distancing/ 2 household rules are still in force and must be adhered to, as is the use of hand sanitizer, minimal equipment on court and individual water bottles.

Something of a return to normality, but we would urge you all to follow the guidance and rules we have been operating under for some months now – the virus has not gone away.

We look forward to seeing you all on court.
