The Welsh Government (WG) has announced a nationwide lockdown for this 17 day period. Some of the major points are listed above – a fuller explanation of Frequently Asked Questions may be accessed here – Firebreak Lockdown – FAQ’s
As a result, we have been informed both by WG and Tennis Wales (TW) that the Club must be closed for the duration of the lockdown. No tennis or social activity is permitted, and the courts and clubhouse will be closed to all other than authorised personnel carrying out essential functions.
For the remainder of this week, activities will continue as planned – courts are open and coaching and general play permitted.Mixed Social Tennis tonight will go ahead, as will Team Practice on Wednesday and Men’s Evening on Thursday.
Courts will be open for use on Friday 23rd, but ALL ACTIVITY must cease at 17.45, and the Club Premises vacated by 18.00.
WG has made it very clear that this national lockdown period is totally time specific and will end on the 9th November. However, a review will be undertaken during this time, and full details of any further measures and restrictions – local or national – published before the 9th.
Our understanding at this time is that the intention is broadly to revert to the rules currently in place i.e. allowing play and some form of socially distanced interaction, but that local restrictions may be introduced where deemed necessary.
We will continue to monitor the situation with WG and TW, and will update you of any significant developments. You can keep up to date on the WG website Welsh Government and on the TW website Tennis Wales
We look forward to welcoming you all beck on the 9th – but in the meantime
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE – KEEP TO THE RULES – WE ALL NEED TO HELP EACH OTHER STAY SAFE – STAY WELL
